‘Beware of Nurses’

When we think about all the nasty life-threating things that can happen to us in Hospital, we tend to see the dangers coming from the Doctors. Well, be careful not to exclude ‘The Nurses’. It turns out, according to the press, that nursing, as we knew it, has in many Hospitals, gone. We read about many horrible Nurses who haven’t a shread of caring in them. They treat patients like dirt; ignore them, shout at them, are abusive to the elderly and basically do what they want and get away with it. It seems that their Regulatory Body and their Professional Association are fast asleep, in some corner. They are about as useful as an ‘Ashtray on a Motorbike’.
Well my friends you have been warned! Don’t accept poor quality care from nursing staff. Complain! Complain! Complain! And if you have any family members in Hospital, especially Elderly family members, or friends protect them from ‘Uncaring Nurses’.
Only members of the public will bring about change. Politicans, Government Bodies, Health Trusts, Health Groups, Watchdog Bodies, Professional Associations, Regulatory Bodies, etc. My Friend; most of these are a total waste of time.

The Health Service! It makes you wonder!

If you are a Health Service patient you could be waiting three months for a scan and when you have had a scan it can take up to a month for it to get to your family doctor or consultant.
If you are a private patient you will have a scan within a few days and the scan results will be with your family doctor or consultant within a few days.
Some people waiting for scans in the Health Service die and many patients illnesses become more advanced and dangerous. This in the long term costs the Health Service millions of pounds treating illnesses that have become more serious due to the length of time patients have had to wait for tests.
You have to wonder what the hell the Health Service is all about. In many cases it is no longer fit for purpose. It is responsible for making patients more ill and indeed for causing more patients to die. It’s name should be changed from the National Health Service to the National Sick Service!

How much worse can the Health Service get?

A leading surgeon has quit the National Health Service in disgust, claiming that patients regularly die, due to a lack of resources. This is totally disgusting and shows a totally disregard for life. You and I are just a number. When you consider the lack of resources to treat and save the lives of patients: How can this be justify when Managers of the Health Service have luxury offices, expensive laptops, expensive mobile phones, expensive furniture, expensive carpets, coffee machines, etc.
Either the Government is powerless to stop this or they just don’t give a damm.

Money is for making things happen.

Clear and true. As my old mate, Rich Branson, would say, ”Money is for making things happen”. This is no more true than when it comes to your health. If you are relying on the Health Service and you need advanced surgery for a cancer that is growing inside you: By the time they arrange for you to have tests and they get around to getting you a bed, it can be months before you get the surgery you so desperately need. On the other hand. if you have plenty of money you can have your pick of doctors and get your surgery almost immediately. Yip, you can even get the doctors to do an Irish Jig at your bedside. It will cost you, but they will do it. Yes folks, money can buy you the most skilled doctors and the best health care in the world. Not having money, or little money can get you rubbish health care and the worse doctors, or just as bad, trainee doctors! Well they need someone to practise on. Help!

Welcome to Northern Ireland

Hi Friends! If you are planning a visit or a holiday to Northern Ireland, be well prepared and keep yourself safe. No I don’t mean ‘The Troubles’. I mean ‘A & E’ [Accident and Emergency]Departments. The A & E Departments have been closed down in two hospitals and in a third hospital, their A & E closes over night. The remaining A & E’s that are still open, are struggling. elderly patients, with suspected strokes are lying on trolleys, in corridors foir 36 hours plus before they are seen. Often they are not given anything to eat or drink and some are not even taken to a toilet. You know what that means? Nurses are stressed out and can be seen crying. Many doctors are on the verge of burn-out and many junior doctors are working unsupervised and training sessions for them are few and far between.
If you do become ill or have an accident, while in Northern Ireland, you will probably receive treatment quicker by flying home and going to your local hospital. Or you could decide to spend the remainder of your holiday, lying on a trolley, waiting to see a stressed out nurse, or a burnt- out doctor or an inexperienced junior doctor with little training or supervision. p.s. Bring plenty of books to read, lots of sandwiches, a barrel of water and your own bedpan! Welcome to the Emerald Isle. May God be with you.

Don’t screw things up!

Your Health should come first. It’s the most important part of your life so don’t screw things up, by neglecting it and certainly don’t let doctors or health care staff screw things up. With your health it is often the case that you only get one bite of the cherry. Video

Heed this Advice.

Tens of thousands of patients are killed each year by their doctors. Misdiagnosis, wrong treatment, incompetent doctors, junior doctors, accidents, etc, etc.
My advice is this: If your doctor has diagnosed you as having a serious illness and in need of surgery, or other forms of high level treatment; then seek a second opinion. Not just a second opinion from any other doctor, no a second opinion from one of the top doctors who specialises in treating the illness you have been diagnosed with. To find out who these top doctors are, just carry out research on the internet. When you have found them, ask your family doctor to refer you to them. Or if you wish, you can usually arrange to see them as a private patient.
Never totally accept as fact, the diagnosis and treatment that has been decided by the first doctor you see!

Why are people such Assholes?

Yea! Thats what I said. Why are peoples such Assholes, when it comes to their health? If you don’t put your health and the health of your family first, then there is something missing between your ears. Every day of the week people are buying cars for £30,000 plus; yet if they had a routine medical problem than needed surgery, they would hang around on the National Health Service waiting list, for two to three years rather than pay a few hundred pounds and have the problem solved privately. Quite often, waiting for a few years can make their medical problem worse. People are quick to spend their money on material things and not on their health. I find it hard to understand. Indeer it annoys me slightly, just thinking about it. Good night!
